Should I Choose a Single Kayak or Tandem (2-person) Kayak?
We are one of the few companies on Puget Sound that offers the choice between single & tandem kayaks. We provide touring kayaks (sea kayaks) for all of our trips. They tend to be narrower and sleeker than recreational kayaks. Our tandems are very stable, fast, and a lot of fun to paddle with a partner. They are long enough that each person can paddle at their own pace and steering is controlled by a rudder. They are great for novices, experienced kayakers, and people who may not be as active as they once were. If you prefer to paddle a single kayak you should be relatively active and have a good sense of balance. The possibility of capsizing in a single is greater and the paddler should be able to reenter the kayak in the water with the assistance of a guide.
